The Orchid is the mistress of all flowers. Mysterious and opulent. Fascinating and distinct. She haunts every corner of this planet, from the depths of the jungle where no man has set foot, to a gracious corner of the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong.
Encounters leave you feeling privileged and the memory rare.
In isolation this mistress reigns, exiled, proud and perfect, a sensual caress in the dark of the night.

A collection of photographs that suggest just that. That they may have been shot in Night’s Shade. A stylistic approach that explores the way in which flora and flowers appear to glow when they are illuminated by pure moonlight.
The incandescent quality that moonlight brings to nature, while beautiful is at the expense of its vividness, it drains the colour but accentuates the quality of the form. Like the north light so favored by Dutch Masters of the 18th Century, it is both light and shade at the same time.
